The Maharashtra State Board is an autonomous body established under Maharashtra Act No. 41 of 1965. The Maharashtra State Board conducts HSC and SSC examinations in the state of Maharashtra. Maharashtra has 9 divisional boards in Pune, Nagpur, Chh. Sambhajinagar, Mumbai, Kolhapur, Amravati, Nashik, Latur, and Konkan. There are about 23000 schools and 10000 higher secondary schools across Maharashtra. The board designs their own syllabus and curriculum for SSC and HSC.
