Grandpa does not like the noisy city. He always missed his quiet brick house with the mango tree, but one day he fell down, and at that time no one was around him to help, so Ravi’s mother brought him to the city.
Ravi’s mother worried about the grandpa. Ravi’s mother told Ravi to take care of him during the holidays. Ravi’s mother spoke loudly to Grandpa like he was a child, but Ravi does not like that.
Grandpa loved to play chess and remembered famous moves from old matches. But Grandpa also wants freedom. One day he went alone with his walking stick and yellow cap. Ravi secretly followed him.
Grandpa enjoyed himself, and he ate peanuts in the park, drank tea, ate bananas and ice cream, and even went to the barber shop. Ravi tried to hide and watch, but he kept getting into trouble and felt embarrassed.
Later, Ravi thought that he lost his grandpa. But when he reached home, he found that the grandpa was safe, sleeping in his bed. Ravi was very happy and hugged him.
That evening Grandpa gave a gift to everyone because it was his birthday. He gave Rave a detective story book, which shows that Grandpa knows that Rave is following him all day.
