Textbook Notes
Class 9 is a very important year in a student’s academic journey; first, you have to become smarter, not harder; first, you have to clear the concept. Use NCERT textbooks and summary notes to build a strong foundation. Use visual tools to retain complex topics in science and social science. Focus on the question of why and how, and use case studies, data interpretation, and reasoning-based questions. Internal assessments are also important in examinations, like projects, portfolios, and periodic tests, which now carry more weight.
CBSE is going to implement a key change in Class 9 under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020;CBSE will introduce a rationalized syllabus and the open-book exam concept starting from 2026-27. For the academic year 2026-27, the CBSE is going to reduce the syllabus of math, science, and English, which will be helpful for the students, and it will decrease the pressure and focus on the core concept. CBSE will introduce open-book assessment from Class 9 from the session 2026-27 academic year. The open-book exam will be part of internal assessments in core subjects like science, math, and social science.
Revised textbooks aligned with NEP and NCFSE 2023 are expected by 2026. Digital resources like DIKSHA and the CBSE Academic Repository offer interactive content, lesson plans, and assessments. CBSE is also shifting the questions from application-based to those that test understanding rather than memorization.
