Class 12 board examinations are considered important because their results are considered by universities and colleges across India and other countries also. The subjects taken in CBSE Class 12 are the base for competitive exams like JEE, NEET, CLAT, and CUET. The Class 12 curriculum emphasizes analytical thinking, problem-solving, and practical knowledge through lab work and projects.

Class 12 marks help to take admission into undergraduate programs; entrance tests for engineering, medicine, law, and management rely heavily on class 12 concepts. Many merit-based scholarships required strong class 12 performance. Students can select streams like science, commerce, and humanities. Preparing in CBSE Class 12 and practicing for the board exam is very important.

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 introduces flexibility in subject choice, competency-based assessments, skill development, and holistic learning. It helps the students to prepare for board exams but also helps for higher education, careers, and life skills. The NEP allows multidisciplinary combinations; for example, you can take physics with economics or accountancy with fine arts. This flexibility helps to align school learning with career aspirations and personal interests.

Previously we had traditional rote-learning exams, and now they are replaced with application-oriented questions. NEP mandates exposure to vocational subjects even at the senior secondary stage. CBSE Class 12 students can take coding, entrepreneurship, agriculture, design thinking, etc. This helps the students to prepare for higher study and the job market.
